Robert Rose, luthier

In his studio and workshop in the mountains of West Virginia, Bob Rose builds one of a kind acoustic instuments from native and exotic woods including Brazilian rosewood, lacewood, koa and native spruce.

His guitars are usually contructed in the classic C.F. Martin style in both dreadnought and parlor sizes, but he accepts commissions for other styles such as bass guitars. Bob has studied with master luthiers Wayne Henderson and David Nichols.

Bob Rose brings his skills as a general surgeon to the precision crafting of each instrument and its inlay detail. His aim with every piece is to create a beautiful instrument that delivers even more beautiful sound.

Two sizes of custom ukuleles are available: tenor and concert size, and are uniquely constructed with bracing and pearl detail. Bob can build mandolins by request.

Bob has designed and trademarked an original instrument stand that is furniture-grade and crafted from cherry. It makes a beautiful resting and display place for your most prized instrument. Unique in that it folds for travel or storage utilizing rare earth magnets, the stand can be ordered for guitar or ukulele/ mandolin/fiddle size (bow hanger included).

Robert Rose is a juried artist of Tamarack, The Best of West Virgina.
